How To Download Youtube Video In Laptop
- How's it going, guys, my name is online info and welcome to onlineTech. Today, I'm going to beshowing you the easiest way to download videos from YouTube. (amp hums)(electricity crackles) So when doing this, please keep in mind that this does not get you outof any sort of copyright laws and that you should onlybe downloading your stuff for personal use thatyou have either created or you have permission from the creator, but let's go ahead and get into it. So there's plenty of ways todownload videos from YouTube, a lot of them being where you can just put thelink online and download it, but what I've noticed is alot of those websites are just full of ads and youcan be downloading something that you think is a movie, but it's actually a virus, and it's overall just not a very safe way to download things. So I wanna show you how Idownload B-roll for my videos, and hopefully, it helps you as well.
So to start this off, you'regoing to need VLC player downloaded onto your computer. I'm, of course, doing this onWindows, but I'm pretty sure that the Mac equivalent wouldbe a fairly similar setup. So go ahead and make surethat VLC is installed. I'm gonna go ahead andswitch to the screen now so you can see, and we're gonna go ahead and just boot up VLC player. Boom, so once you pull up the software, it's gonna look something like this. I've got you on my second monitor, so that's why I had to drag it over here. So we're gonna go ahead andpull up a YouTube video. So let's say I wanna downloadone of my personal videos because I wanna referencesome sort of B-roll. Of course, I could downloadthis from the dashboard, but just for the sake of thisvideo, I'm gonna download it as if I don't have access tothe YouTube Creator Studio.
So I'm just gonna go to this video here, running, here's the cool thing, and then what you wanna do is you wanna take the URL for this. I'm actually gonna takeoff this old timestamp, showing that it's at 52 seconds. We're take off &T and thenwe're just gonna copy this. We're gonna copy that URL. We're gonna bring up VLC player here, and then under VLC player,we're gonna hit Media, and then we're gonna go down to Open Network Stream right here. You wanna paste the URL for the YouTube video that you just copied and then hit Play. How's it going, everyone, today, I'm going to be, so you can see this isgoing to pull up the URL for the YouTube video. Super clean way to watchYouTube videos, too, if you're ever havingissues with the website. You can take the URL and putit in here, it's pretty good, but we wanna download this,so we're halfway there, but this isn't downloaded on the machine. This is solely in the VLC player, so let's goahead and get it downloaded. So what we wanna do is go to Tools here.
We want to go to Codec Information, and that's gonna pull up dialogbox that looks like this. So please keep in mind that this is going to be a video in 720p. We'll get into that in aminute and why videos export in 720p, but let's go aheadand get this downloaded. So we're gonna click this location here. You wanna take this wholeinformation here and click Copy. You wanna copy that. We're gonna go back to our browser here and open up another window, or you can use that same window, and we're gonna paste it. How's it going, everyone, today, boom, that's gonna pullit up inside of Chrome, which now, you can either right-click on or just click these little triple dots, little hamburger in thebottom, right-hand corner, and click Download. Voila, we've downloaded the video. Download's super quickif it's a lower file. Keep in mind these videos are 720 and allow you to use inB-roll for your other videos or whatever else you need.
Okay, so now that we're back and we've got it downloaded,I wanna explain why, whenever you downloadthings online from YouTube, that they're exporting as 720. If you were to go to any website and start to download a video, what you'll realize is, or ifyou were to go to any website to download a YouTube video and you put in the linkor VLC, for instance, it's gonna come up in 720p. That's because YouTube takes a 1080p video and other high-definition versions and they split the audio from the video. So you would need todownload a muted video only of the 1080p from a website and then download the audio separately, or maybe a 720p version, and then add those two together in post. So again, what that meansis YouTube is saving the audio and the video separatefor higher-quality videos, and I think that this is why, whenever you first go to a YouTube video, it automatically loads in720p because that's the one that has the audio file alreadybuilt into the video file. It's just one file together and it's easier for them to load.
So guys, this tutorial, of course, works with other websites, as well, but as we know, YouTubeis the number one platform for on-demand content right now, so that is why I showed it on here, but you can use thatnetwork stream tutorial and download it fromother websites, as well. Possibly some other websitesmay support 1080p, as well, but as we just talked about,YouTube keeps it separate, so that's why it's gonnaautomatically load in 720p. So guys, if you like this content and you got something out ofthis video, please make sure to leave a like orsubscribe to the channel if you wanna see moreof this type of content. It really helps my content get seen and helps me grow as a creator, so I really appreciate the feedback. If you have some other thingsthat you wanna see as videos, make sure to leave them inthe comment section below and I'll do my best to create some videos around that sort of content. Thank you, guys, and untilnext time, I'm Shayway. (amp hums)(electricity crackles)
